Apple and Samsung have both been competing for the number one smart phone spot for quite some time now. The tech giants collectively own two thirds of the entire smart phone market share, so it’s no surprise that their latest flagships, the iPhone 5s and Galaxy S5, are the probably the best phones out there. But which one is better? Well let’s find out.
The iPhone 5s was released last year and was welcomed by huge sales figures. There was much buzz around about what the consumers expected Apple to do with the new iPhone and so far they all look happy. The phone is running a Dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone processor with 1 GB DDR3 RAM. This means the phone runs very smoothly and gives great performance and speed. iPhone 5s is equipped with the latest IOS 7 which still does not allow the users to do much customization but has made its performance top notch and has still managed to improve the user interface. The camera is a very big plus point for the iPhone 5s which has always been Apple’s stronger suits. The 8 MP camera comes with a number of handy features and is capable of producing HDR photos and 1080 HD videos. The result is outstanding with rich color and a very good attention to detail which has made iPhone 5s’s camera one of the best in smart phones. With a 4 inch screen, the phones screen size might be a disappointment for few but is also praised by some for being easy to handle and manage by one hand. My favorite feature about the phone is its brilliant design which gives off this premium look that you cannot find in another phone.
The Galaxy S5, released this year, is equipped with a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU which also makes it one of the fastest and best performing phones in the market. The phone comes with a huge 5.1 inch display, which is a very big plus point compared to the iPhone 5s. At 16 MP, the camera might also seem like a big difference between both the phones but the result is arguably almost the same. The Galaxy does have a lot of different features to offer for their camera app which are first to be seen in a smart phone. The Galaxy S5 comes with the latest Android Kitkat 4.4.3 which is absolute a delight. The OS offers a lot of customization to users and I, for one, am very fond of this independency that iPhone seems to lack. Samsung’s battery time is also pretty great as compared to the iPhone 5s. The design of the Galaxy S5, however, is a big disappointment. The phone is water proof which makes it easier to use and handle on many occasions but I think the design should have been better.
So which phone is better? Well if you ask me, I’ll have to go with the Galaxy S5. The phones big screen and the sheer Android experience are a big plus point for the S5. But iPhone 5s is not behind in any way. In the end it all comes down to your choice and how you choose to use your phone which will drive your decision.
