With the thousands of applications available on iTunes, many become overwhelmed when trying to find the best educational apps for children. The list of available application grows daily, but educators and therapists agree that this list includes some of the top applications to own.
Cut the Rope
Cut the Rope by ZeptoLabs is a great way to teach your child physics without him/her realizing she is learning. There are just under 400 levels on the main game, but there are three other versions available, including Cut the Rope 3, Cut the Rope: Time Travel, and Cut the Rope: Experiments. The Experiments will have your child learning devices that may change the way the candy falls and allow more stars to be collected. With the Time Travel version, you will have settings for different periods in history.

Children in grade school will enjoy the Human Body app by Tinybop. This app is designed to teach children how our system works, what we are made of, and encourage children to explore their curiosity. Your child will learn about the heart, brain, skeletal, nervous, muscular, respiratory, circular, and the digestive system. This app will not grow old, as it is designed to entertain all ages from toddler to adults. The app is only $2.99 and parents can have continued conversations with their children on the application itself.

Toca Boca AB
Toca Boca AB is not a single app, but rather a developer of multiple educational applications for children. There is a hair salon, a doctor, construction, stores, kitchen, and so much more. The applications range in price from free to a couple of dollars. Your children will have fun learning the chores required in the house, and pretend play with other careers. The apps are interactive and are designed to entertain your children with monsters and other pretend characters. The age range for these applications are five and under, but older children will enjoy giving monsters hairstyles or cooking food.
Many other applications that are educational for children are available, including the Hooked on Phonics application. While these games are designed to teach your children, it is best if you play with your child and really push the concepts. They will prevent boredom from occurring, and expand your child’s curiosity in other areas of life.
