Anker SOLIX S5000 Powers Appliances Through Prolonged Blackouts
Power cuts hit hardest when the temperature drops and food starts to spoil. Anker is pushing the SOLIX S5000 as a fix for households bracing for outages that drag on for days.
The SOLIX S5000 packs a 5,024Wh battery and delivers 4,500W of continuous output, with surges up to 8,000W. It handles both 120V and 240V appliances. That covers refrigerators and, by Anker's specs, also compatible furnaces and well pumps. Water heaters make the list too.
The SOLIX S5000 uses LiFePO₄ battery cells rated for up to 10,000 cycles and a projected lifespan of 15 years, according to official product details.
Battery Capacity and Real-World Claims
Anker says the SOLIX S5000 can keep a refrigerator running for 86 hours or power a fridge, Wi-Fi router, coffee maker, lights, and phone for 48 hours. These numbers come from Anker's own tests. No third-party lab has confirmed them. The unit uses OptiSave 2.0, which Anker claims hits 96% efficiency at a 1,000W load and cuts idle drain to stretch battery life during long blackouts.
During an 8.5-hour neighborhood outage, Anker's F3000 kept a refrigerator running without trouble. The S5000 weighs about 97 pounds (44 kg), but wheels and a telescoping handle help with moving it around. Anker calls it the smallest and lightest in its 5kWh class. Buyers can expand capacity up to 30kWh with extra batteries. According to a Digital Trends product overview, the S5000 measures 21.97 × 10.63 × 15.16 inches, holds about 58 liters, and includes four NEMA 5-20 outlets, a TT-30 socket, an L14-30 port, and both USB-A and USB-C ports.
Features and Availability
The SOLIX S5000 switches to backup in 10 milliseconds, aiming to keep sensitive electronics online when the grid drops. It can recharge fully in 99 minutes with a 240V source. The warranty runs five years. Anker has not released Canadian pricing or a launch date. In the US, the S5000 launches October 27, 2026, at $2,499.99 USD, undercutting its $3,599.99 MSRP. Orders placed from October 27 to November 9 come with bonus items worth $699, including a two-year warranty extension and a DC cable for the SOLIX Smart Generator, as reported by Android Authority.
For homes in storm-prone regions, the SOLIX S5000 brings more backup muscle. Its specs look strong on paper, but only Anker's own testing backs the claims so far. Buyers who need guaranteed performance during outages will want to see independent results. High capacity, fast recharge, and portability put the S5000 in the running for anyone needing to keep appliances powered through extended blackouts.
The S5000 received a TÜV SÜD A+ Runtime rating, confirming its runtime performance as evaluated by an independent testing organization. This third-party certification adds credibility to Anker's claims about the device's endurance during extended outages.
