NerdsMagazine publishes independent technology journalism, reviews, explainers, guides, troubleshooting information, comparisons, rankings, and other editorial content. This policy defines the standards that guide editorial decisions across the publication and explains how we distinguish independent editorial work from company claims, opinion, commercial material, and other forms of content.
Our Editorial Standards
1. Accuracy
Material factual claims should be supported by appropriate evidence. Names, dates, specifications, software versions, prices, statistics, quotations, and other significant details should be verified to a level appropriate to the article and the potential consequences of an error.
2. Source Quality
We prefer primary and authoritative sources where practical and useful. Secondary reporting can provide context or confirmation but should not replace a stronger original source when one is reasonably available.
3. Context
Articles should provide enough context for readers to understand relevant limitations, uncertainty, regional differences, product versions, pricing conditions, methodology, or other factors that materially affect interpretation.
4. Independence
Editorial decisions are separate from advertisers, sponsors, manufacturers, PR agencies, commercial partners, and other outside interests.
5. Transparency
Readers should be able to distinguish independent editorial reporting from opinion, company claims, sponsored material, press releases, and other commercial content.
6. Practical Usefulness
Technology coverage should help readers understand products, services, problems, tradeoffs, limitations, and consequences rather than merely repeat announcements or specifications.
7. Accountability
Verified material factual errors should be corrected appropriately. Significant new information may result in an update or clarification.
How These Standards Apply
Source Standards
Depending on the subject, NerdsMagazine may use official product documentation, technical specifications, software release notes and changelogs, security advisories, standards documentation, company statements, public records and regulatory information, academic or recognized industry research, public datasets, qualified experts, direct testing or observed product behavior, and reputable secondary reporting for context or confirmation.
A company statement can establish what the company says. It does not automatically establish that broader claims about performance, reliability, security, popularity, superiority, or user experience are independently verified.
Named and Unnamed Sources
NerdsMagazine prefers named, on-the-record sources and uses unnamed sources rarely. An unnamed source may be considered when the source's identity is known to the relevant editorial team, the source has credible access to important information, and there is a legitimate reason the source cannot reasonably be identified publicly.

Verification
Fact-checking focuses on whether factual claims are supported by appropriate evidence. Editorial review also considers context, clarity, sourcing, fairness, structure, and whether the article accurately represents the available information.
When NerdsMagazine has not directly tested a product, feature, or procedure, the article should not imply hands-on testing.

Editorial Independence and Commercial Relationships
NerdsMagazine uses advertising, including Google AdSense, and may consider direct advertising or clearly labeled sponsored content. Advertisers, sponsors, product manufacturers, developers, agencies, and other commercial partners cannot purchase a favorable independent review, a predetermined score, a guaranteed recommendation, a higher independent editorial ranking, suppression of accurate criticism, or prevention of a legitimate correction.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
NerdsMagazine does not currently use affiliate links as an established publishing model.
Reviews, Rankings and Recommendations
Reviews and rankings should use criteria relevant to the category and intended audience. Criteria may include performance, features, usability, compatibility, privacy, security, reliability, support, pricing, long-term cost, and practical value.
Not every ranking uses a numerical score. Editorial assessment may be used where appropriate, but commercial payment does not determine independent ranking position.

Sensitive and Higher-Risk Technology Topics
NerdsMagazine is primarily a technology publication, not a medical, legal, financial, tax, or investment publication. Technology coverage may nevertheless involve cybersecurity, privacy, account security, data loss, financial consequences, legal implications, or physical safety. Such claims may require stronger sourcing, clearer limitations, or additional verification.
General technology information should not be treated as personalized medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, or other professional advice.
AI-Assisted Work
AI is used only for creating, preparing, or editing images and other visual materials.
AI is not used for article writing, drafting, rewriting, research, fact-checking, source monitoring, summarization, translation, metadata, descriptions, tagging, categorization, biographies, or other editorial text.

Verified factual errors should be corrected. Material that is technically accurate but potentially misleading may be clarified. Information that changed after publication may be updated.
