NerdsMagazine uses AI only for creating, preparing, or editing images and other visual materials. Human editors remain responsible for editorial judgment, sourcing, factual verification, context, and publication decisions.
Current AI Use
AI-Generated Visuals
AI-generated visual material may be used when an article benefits from a conceptual, abstract, or illustrative image rather than documentary photography. Such material should support understanding without creating a false impression that a synthetic scene is factual evidence.
Appropriate uses may include conceptual technology illustrations, abstract representations of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity or cloud-computing illustrations, and other non-documentary visual concepts.
What AI Must Not Fabricate
AI tools must not be used to fabricate or intentionally misrepresent sources, quotations, interviews, names, people, credentials, organizations, research, statistics, documents, events, test results, product behavior, security incidents, or other forms of evidence.
AI Is Not an Authoritative Source
Human Editorial Control
Human editors remain responsible for selecting topics, choosing sources, evaluating credibility, checking factual claims, reviewing context and wording, distinguishing fact from opinion, evaluating images, making publication decisions, and reviewing corrections and updates.
AI and Fact-Checking
AI is not used for fact-checking or research. Material factual claims are verified through the normal NerdsMagazine editorial process and appropriate source material.

AI-Generated Images and Real Events
AI-generated images should not be presented as authentic photographs of real events when they are synthetic. Where the exact appearance of an event, product, interface, device, error message, damage, or physical condition matters to the article, authentic source material should generally be preferred where appropriate and available.
AI and Real People
AI-generated imagery must not falsely depict a real person as making a statement they did not make, attending an event they did not attend, using a product they did not use, committing an act that did not occur, or appearing in circumstances unsupported by reality.
AI and Reviews or Rankings
AI-generated scoring or automated recommendations do not determine NerdsMagazine editorial review conclusions or ranking positions.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
AI and Sponsored Content
Sponsored or commercial content is subject to the same prohibition on fabricated facts, quotations, people, credentials, statistics, or evidence.
Corrections
If AI-assisted visual material contributes to a factual, visual, attribution, or contextual error, the issue is subject to the same correction standards that apply to other NerdsMagazine content.
