Geeky Self Defense

If you spent 30 minutes on Youtube looking for street fights, knockout game, or brutal attacks, you would have a bad feeling about humanity. With Youtube it is easy to see hours of terrible human behavior. This is not the norm, as most people act properly. But to see what some evil people are capable of doing gives me pause. I know everyone doesn’t want to be the next Anderson Silva or Jon Jones, but you don’t need to be a UFC champion in order to fend off real world attacks by awful people with bad intentions.

The good news is that you don’t have to be near a martial arts gym to learn how to take care of yourself should you run into some thugs on the street. The Gracie family offers Jiu-Jitsu training online. The Gracies are world famous for their brand of Jiu-Jitsu techniques. You can register for free to get a great deal of content, and of course pay for premium content.

This training is no dog and pony show. Brothers Rener and Ryron Gracie are the real deal. I would bet on these two in any fighting situation in the real world. They offer a ton of content on Youtube as well as directly on their website.

If you or someone you love could benefit from learning some martial arts techniques or just a few helpful self defense moves, please check out the Gracies online. It would be great if we only had to deal with the 98% of humans that are decent folks. If that were the case, no one would need to know how to choke a guy out or spin out of a full mount position. It’s the two percent of evil people that make it very helpful to know how to deal with violent situations. Thankfully we can learn a great deal without having to go to a training center. We won’t be able to knock out Ronda Rousey after a week of online video tutorials, but maybe we will learn enough to beat up an attacker looking to take our wallets for some drug money.
