Five Free World of Warcraft Alternatives

If you love playing Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs), you have probably heard of or even played World of Warcraft (WoW). However, for many people, the $15 a month Battle.net charge to play is a little steep. Of course, you could choose to play the starter edition for free, but it has so many limitations it almost ruins your gameplay. Fortunately, there are many games available that are similar to WoW, and you won’t have to spend any money on them, unless of course, you want to.

Rift

Rift is probably one of the best WoW alternatives, and is extremely similar to World of Warcraft in set up, looks and gameplay. When you first begin the game, you will be able to choose from a number of different characters and, as your game progresses, you will be able to get mounts and pets. The graphic quality is not quite as good as WoW and the user interface is slightly different. But it is so close that you may feel like you are playing a WoW extension.

Neverwinter

Neverwinter is an action MMORPG that plays much like a single player RPG. When you begin this game you will be able to choose from five classic Dungeons and Dragons classes, including a cleric, wizard, rogue, and two types of fighters. If you enjoy fast-paced combat, you will really like this game, as you can fight numerous enemies and bosses or play in the PVP environment where you can fight in small skirmishes and much larger 80-person battles.

Age of Conan

Like many MMORPGs, Age of Conan began as a pay to play game and has recently become free to play. The graphics in this game are quite impressive, and the voice acting brings the game to a level above many of the others. There are four different races available in Age of Conan, and four core archetypes, which are further broken down into 3 class options. Another thing that sets this game above many of the others is the ability for players to come together and create their own game cities, complete with walls, defenses, inns, and stores.

Dungeons and Dragons Online

Probably one of the most well-known RPGs in the world, Dungeons and Dragons allows you to explore a vast continent, offers real time combat, and a user interface that looks very similar to the one found in Diablo II. Dungeons and Dragons is an action RPG where you can interact with other players, and enjoy a good fight in real time. Free players can level up to level 28 so can enjoy hours of game time without having to pay a dime.

League of Legends

League of Legends is probably one of the most played PC games in North America. It is a lot of fun if you have league boosting, very addictive and completely free to play. It is important that you get boosting from reputable source like elo boost. However, it is not exactly like World of Warcraft, instead it is more like playing in PVP mode or an instance in WoW.
