G2 To Make Giant Roster Moves Ahead Of The League Of Legends 2022 Season

With a less than stellar performance in the League of Legends 2021 season, it appears G2 is set to make some big changes to their starting lineup. In a video released yesterday, Carlos Rodriguez released a video update where he announced Wunder, support Mikyx, AD carry Rekkles, head coach Grabbz, and strategic coach Nelson would all be going up for trade.

Carlos is sure to mention that the reason behind these seemingly brash moves is that the goal for the Esports team has always been to win worlds. They believe making these changes will lead them to ultimately being victorious.

How Will G2 rebuild?

The new rosters will have to bounce back from the team’s failure to secure a spot at Worlds in 2021. But rumor has it Carlos has some ideas that will shake the dust off and launch the team to victory in the coming season.

Among those being considered for the roster are two LEC rookies and a new veteran top laner as well as the only two retained players, Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski and Rasmus ‘Caps’ Borregaard Winther. This could be the jump-start the team needs to propel them to victory in 2022.

Competition in 2022

Although restructuring the G2 League of Legends team will go a long way in advancing the team to victory there is still stiff competition in the league. As far as North American teams are concerned the big names to watch out for are going to be 100 Thieves and Team Liquid. Nadeshot, an owner of 100 Thieves, has made it clear winning Worlds for League of Legends is a top priority to him and to his company’s many investors. Only time will tell if Carlos’s restructuring and opting to bring in rookie competitors will stack up to the giants like 100 Thieves and Team Liquid who have had major success in the past.
