Google Pixel 3 XL Leaked: New Pics Show Notch, Tweaked Design

The smartphone wars are in full swing. With Apple planning to release a budget iPhone X in September, Google is expected to counter it with a scheduled launch of its next version of the Pixel phones in October 2018. However, a series of leaks have already revealed the purported pics of the Google Pixel 3, and now it looks like the possible display size of the Google Pixel 3 XL is also out.

The leaked images were posted on the XDA developers forum by senior member meraz9000, claiming to show a prototype of the upcoming phone. Here is all that we learned from the alleged leak:

Google Pixel 3

Display Notch

The pics show that the XL could have a notch above the display and a chin below to accommodate stereo front-facing speakers. This is corroborated from previous reports that have stated that the phone is likely to have a top notch in its design.

One Rear Camera, Dual Front Cameras

Dual rear cameras are becoming a common trend with the latest generation of phones, but Google seems to be continuing with the single rear camera, while having a double front camera. We are pretty sure it won’t matter a lot because the Pixel phones are known for clicking some of the best low-light images we have ever seen.

All Glass Back?

The back side of the camera shows the placement of the camera, flash and sensors with a similar aesthetic as the Pixel 2 XL. On closer scrutiny though, do we see an all-glass model? The edges are nice and curvy and if indeed we have an all-glass back, will it indicate wireless charging in the Pixel 3? We can speculate, but it’s too early to say for sure.

Specifications

According to the leaked pics, at least one 128 GB model is in the works with a 4GB RAM. A previous leak that hinted at a 6.2 inch display also seems likely from these latest images.

Suspected Codenames

It has been rumored that Google has been working on the Pixel 3 XL under the codenames Crosshatch, Albacore, and Blueline. The alleged Pixel 3 XL sporting a Crosshatch probably means the leak is legit.

How much will the Pixel 3 cost?

Google’s Pixel phones have had more or less the same pricing. The cost for the Pixel and Pixel 2 series is as follows, and Pixel 3 should have, give or take, somewhat a similar pricing. The Pixel 3 XL, however, is expected to cross $1000.

Pixel w/ 32GB — $649

Pixel w/ 128GB — $749

Pixel 2 w/ 64GB — $649

Pixel 2 w/ 128GB — $749

Pixel XL w/ 32GB — $769

Pixel XL w/ 128GB — $869

Pixel 2 XL w/ 64GB —$849

Pixel 2 XL w/ 128GB — $949

Though it is too early to say for sure whether the leaked image is indeed of the Google Pixel 3, past reports have shown that these random leaks mostly come out true. Let’s wait and watch!
