Elysium Health’s Approach to Cellular Health
When it comes to personal health, most of us strive to be healthier. We spend a lot of time sitting down at work so, as a result, we set the goals of eating less junk food and exercising more. Certain supplements can improve your well-being even further.
How Does Basis Work?
Basis is a daily supplement designed by Elysium Health to support your cellular health. Basis is proven to increase and sustain levels of NAD+. NAD+ is a coenzyme that is essential to many of our cellular functions like regulating circadian rhythms, energy creation, and DNA protection. As the body ages, the levels of NAD+ decline.
Basis is a vegan, vegetarian, gluten- and nut- free supplement. That allows you to stick to your diet and avoid any related food allergies.
Why Choose Basis?
Developed by leading scientists
Elysium Health is a health company that was co-founded in 2014 by Dr. Leonard Guarente. Dr. Guarente is the chief scientist at Elysium Health. He also works as the director of the Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research at MIT. The company translates advances in science and technology to create clinically-validated health products that work.
The leadership team at Elysium Health seeks to serve the broader health community. Eric Marcotulli directs the vision as the CEO of the company. Before becoming the CEO, he worked at Sequoia Capital as its youngest partner to lead growth investing in mobile technologies. Eric earned his BA from Princeton University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. Dan Alminana works as the COO of the company, in charge of the operational and financial elements of Elysium Health, having previously worked in venture capital at JP Morgan Securities, where he launched and led its Silicon Valley venture capital coverage unit.
To ensure the effectiveness of Basis, Elysium Health put the supplement through a clinical trial in 2016. The study took 120 people and divided them into three equal groups. Group one took two capsules of Basis, which is the recommended daily dose of the supplement. Group two took four capsules of the supplement, which is double the recommended daily dose of Basis. Group three took a placebo.
The trial demonstrated that taking the recommended daily dose of Basis over the course of several weeks increased and sustained levels of NAD+ by an average of 40 percent.
Basis is available for purchase on Elysium Health’s website. Basis is sold as monthly subscriptions as well as in individual jars. A standard monthly subscription costs $50 each month. Longer subscriptions cost more upfront but offer discounts on the monthly rate.
To sell Basis in stores, Elysium Health has partnered with the tech retailer b8ta. Pick up a jar of Basis while discovering other unique products at one of b8ta’s locations now until the end of June.
Elysium Health is also in the process of developing new products. These focus on cognitive health, muscle function, skin health, and circadian rhythms. These products are currently in various stages of pre-clinical and clinical trials.
